Best way to clean and bathe in winter…?

Well, not really bathe since it is winter… but our Flea Bitten Grey Polish Arabian is very dusty and when I rub my hand through his mane and over his body even after 30 min of brushing my hand is black!! We are new horse owners and still building pasture so the area he is in has no grass and in S.E Georgia, very sandy. We are waiting until spring for planting pasture mix since we are still removing trees and expanding fence line. So he will be exposed to the dirt daily, should I even bother trying to get him clean or will it be a waste of time?
I did buy some spray sheen to help repel after getting this dust off if I can!
Thank you for the suggestions. I do use a rubber curry and he is blanketed this week. I’m in a warm climate so can’t blanket him all winter it was 80 a week ago, 19 last night!lol I do groom daily.

As long as you are grooming daily, it shouldn’t be that big of a problem. Are you using a rubber curry comb? That is what loosens the dirt and pulls it out from under their coat. Be sure to be grooming every day. A little dirt isn’t going to hurt. Maybe invest in a blanket. That will keep him warm and the blanketed area clean.
