What is the quickest way to start working with horses?
Is it easy to get a job as a trainer assistant or vet tech? What type of schooling is typically required to be an entry level tech? Thanks!
If you already know how to ride and handle horses, going to work for a trainer might pay off even if you start as a stable hand. If you aren’t familiar with horses, they aren’t going to let you handle them much, so you won’t learn. In that case, go to work as a vet tech.
There are vocational/tech school courses for vet assistants. The key will be to get hired by an equine specialist. Agricultural farm vets and general practitioners don’t see as many horses as they do cattle or dogs.
