Can horses with OCD jump?
I know this is controversial and different vets have different views but what is your answer on this and why. I was lookin to buy this horse that was “the perfect match” for me but when he was vetted, he had a 6cm lesion on his stifle. I am an eventer and my vet said he isn’t discouraging me or encouraging me to buy the horse. He just told me what OCD was all about. I recently bought a new horse but I still am interested in the other horse too. What should I do?? The horse with the 6cm lesion is still for sale. HELP me PLEASE. THX!!
I’d be very careful buying a horse with OCD if I was looking for a jumper. Jumping can be very tough on a horse’s legs, so leg trouble could stop your jumping dreams in their tracks. Plus, it would be awful if the horse got injured from jumping because of his pre-existing condition. If I were you, I’d look for another horse to be my jumper. This horse would probably be a better trail or pleasure horse. Sorry! I hope you find a wonderful horse to jump with.
